Current owners of The Orange Update and Buzz On Broad, Rob Giannone and Danny Ricciardi, are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring top of the line coverage to the best fans sports. Hockey is our passion, and we are fortunate enough to be able to share our love for the Flyers with the greatest city in the world. Along with our team of talented writers and hockey enthusiasts, we strive to bring to you up-to-date and interesting content on The Orange and Black in one convenient location. How We Started

Back in 2009, Rob and Danny founded The Orange Update. For 3 full seasons, they offered up in-depth analysis, pre and post game reports, interest articles, and special interviews with different Flyers personalities. The Orange Update made great strides in the three short years it was up and running and was even nominated for the Top Sports Blog in Philly for 2011.

The Orange Update opened the door to the world of online media in the city of Philadelphia. Through the blog and contacts made, Rob and Danny were able to purchase Buzz On Broad from it’s original founder Drew Cohen in April 2012.

Today, with the help of newly revamped crews, both The Orange Update and Buzz On Broad continue to be the cutting edge source for all the happenings across the major professional realm of Philly sports. The teams strive to deliver quality content around the clock to give the Philadelphia fanatic their daily sports fix.

International Recognition

As part of The Orange Update, Rob and Danny were fortunate enough to be a part of a worldwide video segment filmed, directed, and produced by the Australian based company Sportsbrand Media.

Sportsbrand Media Group is an international multi-media sports production and marketing company head-quartered in Melbourne, Australia with offices in London, Dubai and Tokyo. They provide a comprehensive range of event broadcast services and specialize in the production of high quality daily, weekly and timeless sport-based programmes, distributed and broadcast in more than 190 countries worldwide.

Rob and Danny were interviewed as part of a 13 episode series entitled “Much More than a Game”. The segment, which aired on over 146 different countries in 2011, featured passionate fans from all around the world and how supporting a sports team is “more than just a game”.
