Call Me Lou
| Rob – Lou – Danny |
Every hockey organization has a beginning, every beginning needs a voice. The voice that would inform the fans on what is going on during the games. The voice that told you who scored the goals, and what the penalties are. Since their inception, for the Philadelphia Flyers, that voice is Lou Nolan.
Lou Nolan was given the opportunity to be the Flyers PA announcer, and has never looked back. His voice is something that every Flyers fan attending home games can recognize. Fans love hearing the famous “PECOOO Powerplay”, or “Flyers Goal Scored By Number…”. Besides all the sayings that fans like to hear, he is also well loved around the Flyers organization. Lou has the golden voice that has been around throughout the Flyers’ history, and will be around for many years to come. He has lived through the Broad Street Bullies days, the team’s two Stanley Cups, and so much more; he has seen it all.
We had the chance to sit down with the great PA announcer, and were given the opportunity to interview Mr. Nolan, or as he prefers “Lou”. Lou is a pure class act to the organization, and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He gave us his time to talk to us about some of his greatest memories that came from this organization. Take a look and a listen to the memories he shares, and the rest of our sit down with the voice of the Flyers, Lou Nolan:
